너의 손을, 벨린다야; 어둠이 나를 어둡게 하는구나,

On thy bosom let me rest,

너의 가숨에 내가 쉬게 해다오,

More I would, but Death invades me;

더욱 나는 원한다, 그러나 죽음이 나를 침범하는구나;

Death is now a welcome guest.

죽음이 이제 (나의) 환영하는 손님이로구나.

 

When I am laid in earth,

내가 땅에 놓여질 때에,

May my wrongs create

나의 잘못들이 만들지 않았으면 좋겠다

No trouble in thy breast;

아무런 문제(골칫거리를)를 너의 가슴에;

Remember me, but ah! forget my fate.

나를 기억하라, 그러나 아! 나의 운명을 잊지 말거라.
